WHAT IS THE IDEAL NUMBER OF EVENTS
FOR YOUR WEDDING WEEKEND?
You only get married once, so why not prolong the festivities and take your time to truly celebrate your nuptials and catch up with your nearest and dearest? Beyond the main event, the wedding ceremony and reception, many couples prefer to organize a wedding weekend that also includes a welcome party and a post wedding farewell. Besides, most of your guests have taken planes, trains and cars to your chosen location specifically to see you tie the knot, so you should definitely make the trip worth their while.
In all seriousness, when planning a three-day wedding, organization is everything and we’re here to give you some insight. Welcome parties, are a fun, low key way to greet everyone with a cocktails-only, open-house-style celebration hosted by you or your parents. You can always give it a more personal twist or show some of the flare that is to come on the main day.
The more formal rehearsal dinner, is next on the list, and it is usually filled with toasts and general good cheer. If most of your guests are out-of-towners, you can always combine the two, and on the eve of the wedding, have an intimate rehearsal dinner with just family and the wedding party, and then meet up with all your other guests for after-dinner drinks.
As for the post wedding brunch honestly anything goes, from mimosas and pancakes to serving antipasti or tropical fruit salads as a nod to your honeymoon destination. The only rule is not to set it too early, since your guests will be tired from all the partying they did the night before. It’s a great way to wind down and exchange final good-byes before embarking on your first trip as Mr. & Mrs. In the end, don’t worry about planning the events hour by hour, or be disappointed if someone cannot attend your special day (or, indeed, days!).
Your wedding celebration is about you and your partner, everything else is just the cherry on top of your wedding cake!
Yours truly,
Konstantina
