Planing a Wedding in Greece

COLOR PALETTES FOR A DESTINATION WEDDING IN GREECE

Deciding on a color palette is one of the first steps of planning a wedding, and especially for a destination wedding in Greece, the choices are endless! We've been planning weddings since 2014 and in our days we've seen everything; from modern and fashion-forward themes and colors, to more timeless and sophisticated concepts rich in classic wedding details. Choosing a color palette is a personal matter and is largely dependent on your personality as a couple and what you like. Your color palette will define the overall aesthetics of your wedding day and will give you the ground rules where we can experiment to create something completely unique. There is no right or wrong besides knowing how to combine colors and elements. We can ensure that your personality is well showcased in the design and that your wedding day will be one for the ages!

We do feel that it is important to have a color palette, even if it is not a bold one, in order to hone the wedding design and aesthetic. This allows us to help provide direction for and work with other vendors to select the best florals, linens, dishware, décor, rentals, etc. that are the best fit for the couples’ vision! We believe in the power of a color palette, otherwise, there is only little left to guide the couple, bridal party, décor, etc. We feel as though a wedding color palette gives everyone some direction and boundaries. The most beautiful events are always those where there is cohesiveness in color, starting with the save-the-dates, which is the first glimpse of what the wedding will be like, to the thank-you note mailed after the wedding. To inspire you we created some color palette suggestions for a wedding in Greece that we know will work perfectly almost anywhere in the country!

Blues and Corals

We love this color combination as it is balanced between cool and warm tones with just enough vibrancy to give your wedding a modern yet timeless feel! Combined with whites, light coral pinks and touches of texture and drama will look elevated enough as well as sophisticated. We would totally see this wedding color palette for a destination wedding in Halkidiki or Ios island, as well as any other island in Greece. It's perfect for spring and summer due to the abundance of florals available and the crisp touch that subtle blue hues give next to corals!

Light blue and white

Inspired by the sea and the sea foam, this colour palette is perfect for a destination wedding in the Greek islands or in a wedding venue that's equally minimal and romantic! Light blue and white is a winning combo for a wedding day because it's balanced and sophisticated, giving each bride and her planner room to play. Also, for a summer wedding this colour palette will add a breezy feel and a soothing, cooling atmosphere that relaxes the eye and highlights the romance of it all. This is the black and white of the wedding designs if you ask us as it looks high-end and refined and are many ways to personalise it to fit each bride and groom perfectly. Think of china patters inspired by each destination, polished crystals and candle light and lots of beautiful fresh flowers!

mustard YELLOW and black

For the couples wanting a black tie wedding in Greece, mustard yellow and black may be a wonderful choice. Essentially, it's black and white with a little bit of an added character as mustard yellow not only adds a wonderful personality but could work as a bridge between summer and fall. Keeping this high end takes almost zero effort, as by nature mustard and black contradict each other perfectly and pouring white in the mix only keeps it looking clean and sophisticated. With minimalistic choices in the dress, invites and tablescape, this colour palette is a win for couples wanting to be a step forward in the styling choices! We could see this theme working to minimalistic and sophisticated venues in Athens or Thessaloniki!

organic and natural greens

That is the perfect colour palette if you're getting married in the Peloponnese or you love olive groves and the Mediterranean feeling of Greece. Perfect for the sophisticated couple, a wedding in these shades will wow the guest in its everlasting and charming personality. With olive leaves, organic greenery and shades of white, it looks simply divine. This colour palette works perfectly for a wedding in summertime or early autumn and can be personalised to fit the needs and vision of every couple. We adore this palette because its truly versatile and can work with so many venues and locations in Greece. It allows couples and their guests to celebrate the authentic Greek character, the unique flavours of the land and the alfresco yet refined aesthetics of Greece!

We hope we gave you food for thought when looking for a wedding colour palette. We believe a wedding at least needs an idea of colours and when couples ask we're saying that weddings need a target colour palette in order to keep consistency throughout the event. Of course, the overall look and feel of a wedding is stronger and more impressive when we focus on an ambience and guest experience versus everything having to strictly follow a colour palette. Feeling plays an important role as well to creating a memorable celebration and we would love to help you find the right colours for your wedding day while curating every detail to make this an unforgettable celebration for you and your guests!
